Binaural beats are an auditory illusion created when two slightly different frequencies are played in each ear. Your brain perceives a third "beat" frequency equal to the difference between the two tones. This can help induce specific mental states.
Yes! Headphones are absolutely required for binaural beats to work. Each ear needs to receive a different frequency, which is only possible with stereo headphones or earbuds.
Delta (0.5-4 Hz): Deep sleep, healing
Theta (4-8 Hz): Meditation, creativity, deep relaxation
Alpha (8-14 Hz): Relaxed focus, stress reduction
Beta (14-30 Hz): Active thinking, concentration
Gamma (30-100 Hz): Peak focus, problem solving
1. Put on your headphones
2. Adjust the Base Carrier Tone (200-500 Hz recommended)
3. Set your desired Binaural Beat frequency or choose a preset
4. Tap "Start Session" and relax
Make sure your headphones are properly connected and the volume is turned up. The base carrier tone should be audible as a constant hum. If you're using the lower frequencies (200 Hz range), the tone will be quite deep.
